Nick O’Leary Winery Wedding / Alanna and Stojan
When it came to choosing a wedding venue, Alanna and Stojan didn’t have to look far—Heywood restaurant at Nick O’Leary Wines was the perfect fit, not just for its award-winning wines, stunning views, and incredible food, but because Alanna herself (an interior designer) designed the interior of the restaurant and cellar door.
The ceremony took place at the Serbian Church in Hall, a celebration of Stojan’s heritage and a deeply personal moment shared with family and friends. From there, guests made their way to Heywood at Nick O’Leary Wines—a modern winery in the Murrumbateman wine region just outside Canberra.
Joanne Flowers of Manuka created incredible work styling this wedding, with a spectacular floral cloud installation that floated above the dining tables at the reception. Ethereal, sculptural, and bursting with texture, it was a centrepiece straight out of a dream. Paired with soft linens, warm candlelight and earthy tones, the whole space felt perfectly Alanna.
Alanna and Stojan wanted a day that felt relaxed, authentically them, and with a focus on time with family and friends. They didn’t want to spend much time away from their guests on their wedding day, but still wanted some beautiful photos of themselves - so we made use of short periods of downtime in between festivites, rather than a full dedicated portrait session. We were treated with the most incredible sunset over the hills of Murrambateman.
